The Redesigned iPod Nano

Image
Another overshadowed product release by the iPhone 5 release yesterday is the next generation iPod Nano . The iPod Nano, now has a touch screen interface and therefore has inherited the multi-touch gestures .  The screen is now at 2.5" which is double the display of the previous iPod Nano. The iPod Nano is so small, it's just about the size of a credit card and super slim at just 5.4mm thick (or should I say thin).  The iPod Nano is the thinnest iPod Apple has created so far. Just like the new iPod touch, the new iPod Nano is built with anodized aluminum and comes in 7 brilliant colors. Bluetooth has also been incorporated into the iPod Nano, so you can pair it up with Bluetooth enabled speakers and headphones.  The new iPod Nano comes with the Apple EarPods, if what the reviewers are saying is true, that the sound is awesome, I think there will be no need to change these. The new Nano is still compatible with the Nike+ so you can monitor your vitals during

Overshadowed by the iPhone 5 Release, Apple Also Updates the iPod Line

Image
With too much attention thrown at the release of the iPhone 5 , a lot of us overlooked the fact that Apple also announced the updates to it's iPod touch and iPod nano line. The iPod touch now becomes more modern and less conservative, the old black and silver iPod touch has been replaced with a slew of very cool looking colored next generation iPod touches .  The 5th generation of Apples high end music player now comes in 6 brilliant colors including the special red edition. The 5th generation iPod touch is very similar to the iPhone 5 in terms of dimensions, the latest iPod touch now also features a 4 inch Retina display packed in an all new super thin aluminum body.  This will be the first iPod generation to use exactly the same anodized aluminum material currently used in the MacBooks .  What's special with the aluminum casing of the iPod touch is that the colors are not painted, but rather bonded right onto the aluminum. The iPod touch inherits the iPhone 4S pro

iPhone 5 is Out - What Came True from the Rumors

Image
The iPhone 5 has been officially announced by Apple , my estimate of how accurate the rumors actually were is about 90%.  Here are the rumors which came out to be true in the final product and what other features were not anticipated or talked about. Larger retina display - This was one of the most talked about iPhone 5 rumors, and this one came true.  The iPhone 5 now has a 4" Retina display capable of displaying a 1136-by-640 resolution.  According to Apple, color saturation has also been improved by 44%. Lightning connector - the rumor which most of us didn't want to come true but did.  Apple has now replaced the old 30-pin connector with a smaller 9-pin connector Apple calls lightning connector.  There are already a lot of accessories like phone chargers, photo saving connectors and interfaces which were built for the 30-pin connector so this change would definitely be a major revision and I'm sure accessory makers are now getting busy catching up the

Android Reaches 500 Million Device Activations - Google

Image
Image via CrunchBase Seems like the best coincidence ever, just on the eve of Apple's possible release of the iPhone 5 , Google has just announced that it has reached the 500 million mark of Android device activations.  Aside from that, Google was also proud to announce that it averages 1.3 million new activations per day. The number is a total of all Android device activations worldwide, however, part of this number is also people replacing old Android phones with the latest models, we're not sure on the percentage of this however. Samsung Philippines Introduces Yet Another Tablet

Image
Samsung Philippines recently unveiled another addition to its tablet line, the Galaxy Note 10.1.  The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 adds another competitor to the growing list of Apple iPad killers. The Galaxy Note 10.1 comes with a WXGA TFT screen capable of displaying 1280x800 pixels with both touch and S Pen support.  The tablet will be run by the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.  The processor will be a very powerful 1.4 GHz Quadcore processor. Memory will be 16GB but will be expandable up to 32GB.  The Galaxy Note will have front and rear facing cameras. The feature I am looking forward to in the Galaxy Note 10.1 is the real multi-tasking feature.  Unlike what the iPad has wherein you switch from application to application, the Galaxy Note 10.1 is capable of running 2 applications side by side, for example watching a video on one screen and a note taking application on the other side. The S Pen, Samsung's stylus, makes writing notes and

Samsung Galaxy Note II Preview

Samsung has posted it's first video of the upcoming Galaxy Note II on its YouTube channel .  The Samsung Galaxy Note II will come with a 5.5" HD Super AMOLED screen and a 16:9 ratio which, according to Samsung will give a nice widescreen cinema like viewing experience. The Galaxy Note II will be ran by a 1.6 Ghz Quad-core processor and will have 2 GB of RAM already built in. The Galaxy Note II will run on  Android 4.1 Jellybean. The applications that come with the Galaxy Note II are sure to take advantage of the new hardware capabilities.  The photo viewer that's built into the Note II is capable of displaying thumbnails in a fancy spiral  showcase or with the gallery view, also another fancy way of organizing your photos on your phone. The S Pen, Samsung's stylus, has the capability to hover over various items on screen to display different information depending on the item.  With hover, the S Pen doesn't have to touch the screen, just float
