Samsung Galaxy Note II Preview
Samsung has posted it's first video of the upcoming Galaxy Note II on its YouTube channel. The Samsung Galaxy Note II will come with a 5.5" HD Super AMOLED screen and a 16:9 ratio which, according to Samsung will give a nice widescreen cinema like viewing experience.
The Galaxy Note II will be ran by a 1.6 Ghz Quad-core processor and will have 2 GB of RAM already built in.
The Galaxy Note II will run on Android 4.1 Jellybean.
The applications that come with the Galaxy Note II are sure to take advantage of the new hardware capabilities. The photo viewer that's built into the Note II is capable of displaying thumbnails in a fancy spiral showcase or with the gallery view, also another fancy way of organizing your photos on your phone.
The S Pen, Samsung's stylus, has the capability to hover over various items on screen to display different information depending on the item. With hover, the S Pen doesn't have to touch the screen, just float the S Pen over the item you want details for and the phone will be able to detect it. Airview works with S Pen to preview email, hovering over an email item and the first few lines of the email will be displayed. Same for appointments, Airview on appointments will display contact details, time and location for the appointment. With videos, Airview will play the selected video on a thumbnail. For photo albums, Airview will display thumbnails of photos inside the selected album.
Quick Command is a feature that lets you choose a particular task easily.
The Galaxy Note II is capable of multitasking with its Pop up feature. With Pop up, you can open a video and while watching the video on any part of the screen, you can simultaneously write a text or email message.
There is also a Screen recorder application which comes standard, with screen recorder, you can be recording anything you are doing on-screen and doing a voice-over, when you're done, you can send the recorded file to either a social networking site, email or MMS.
The Samsung Galaxy Note II looks very promising and makes full use of the stylus. Samsung has not announced a release date or pricing information yet.
