What is the Amazon Cloud Player?

Last week, Amazon announced the release of it's Cloud Player.  What exactly is the Amazon Cloud player?  Simply stated, the "Cloud" is the internet or a remote server, with Amazon's cloud player, you can upload MP3s in your music library to the cloud and access them anywhere you go as long as you have an internet connection.

If you already have an account with Amazon, you can use the same account to access the Amazon Cloud player.  If you don't have an account you can easily sign up for free and access the Amazon Cloud player immediately.

This is how the interface of the Amazon Cloud Player looks, it is very simple and you can start uploading your music instantly, as long as you have an Amazon account.

The first 5 Gigabytes of storage is free, once you have exceeded that, there are corresponding plans to suit your storage needs:

Personally, I think the 5 Gigabyte storage is big enough, but for those of you who have a lot in their music library, you might need a higher capacity plan.

Amazon might have gotten the first step over Apple who was rumored to be coming up with a similar service, something like an iTunes in the cloud product.  We'll wait and see how Apple responds to this and what added features it will have.
