Sony Introduces the Xperia T - James Bond's Latest Phone

It's been a while since we last saw a major groundbreaking mobile phone release from one of the world's largest electronics companies, Sony.  In the recently concluded IFA, consumer electronics limited, Sony showed of the latest models in it's Xperia mobile phone lineup.

There were 3 variants showed for the new Xperia, the T, V and J models.  All these models will be run on Android.  The top of the line T model is the phone used by agent 007 in the latest James Bond movie.  As with most of Sony's high-end phone, the Xperia T's display will be powered by Sony's Mobile Bravia Engine.  The screen will be 4.6" HD.

The Xperia-T will have a 13 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, while the front will be equipped with a 720p HD front-facing camera.

One notable feature which might directly compete with the rumored iPhone 5 is the NFC (near-field communication) capability.  NFC is mainly targeted at making payments using your mobile phone.

The Sony Xperia-T will be powered by a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor, this might be slow compared to what the Samsung SIII has, a quad-core processor, but according to Sony, the processor will deliver improved battery life, fast performance and ultrasharp graphics.

The Xperia-T will be run by the Android 4.0.4 Ice cream sandwich operating system.

Estimated price for the Sony Xperia-T will be $199 with a plan, in the United States.
