Sony Releases the First 4K Ultra HD Smartphone in the World
In the recently concluded Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016, Sony announced that it is releasing the world's first 4K Ultra HD capable smartphone, the Sony XPeria Z5 Premium.
According to Sony, the best of their TV technologies have been put in the XPeria Z5 premium smartphone, this translates to an super vivid and super sharp display. 4K also means that this phone will be able to display 4 times the resolution of full HD found in most TVs and phones today.
If you currently have videos or pictures not in 4K, no worries, the XPeria Z5 will scale up those videos and pictures and makes everything seem sharper and better looking.
Aside from the super sharp videos and photos you can take, the XPeria Z5 also has the Sony technologies to assist you while taking shots, most notably the Sony SteadyShot technology. Also, since it would be hard for you to switch between taking videos and taking photos, you can also screenshot any part of your 4K video and this will produce an impressive 8MP photo.
The Xperia Z5 can easily be connected to a 4K TV through wi-fi using DLNA or by connecting via a MHL 3.0 connector.
Sony didn't forget about security, the XPeria Z5 now includes a fingerprint sensor on its power button for easy unlocking.
Sony claims 2 days of battery life, not bad for a phone with these specs.
Memory shouldn't a problem even if you shoot 4K videos, the XPeria Z5 comes with factory installed 32GB of memory and you can still add up to 200GB of storage through a microSD card.
Shooting or showing this kind of video and this kind of photos should be easy, thanks to the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Quad core processor. Out of the box, the XPeria Z5 will be run by the Google Android 5.1 (Lollipop) mobile operating system.
The XPeria Z5 will be available in three colors, chrome, black and gold, combined with a mirror effect on the back.
No official numbers on how much the Sony XPeria Z5 premium will be and when would be the official launch.
