eero - New Device Which Aims to Extend Your Wifi Coverage at Home
A new device is being launched and it's aimed at fixing our Wifi coverage problems at home. eero, also the name of the company behind the eero device, are trying to fix the dead spots we currently encounter in our homes, and according to the website, the eero is far better than any existing wifi coverage solution.
How does eero work?
There will be one eero connected to your existing DSL or cable modem, then with the help of the app, you will be directed where you need to position additional eeros around your home, the additional eeros will just need to be plugged into a standard wall outlet.
Don't the current wireless extenders do the same thing?

Don't the current wireless extenders do the same thing?
The main difference of the eero from the current wireless extenders is that, the eero nodes contain to radios, one radio dedicated to communicating with devices like tablets, phones and laptops, and another radio dedicated to communicating with the other eeros in your network. Also, eero is capable of automatically choosing either the 2.4 or the 5 GHz radio frequency to avoid interference.
On the other hand, a typical range extender uses a single wireless radio for communicating with both your devices and your router. This divides the capacity of data from the device to the Internet, in half. Also, for backward compatibility with older devices, single-radio extenders use only the 2.4 GHz radio frequency band which is already highly utilized causing network traffic.
Another advantage of the eero over traditional wireless extenders is that it will broadcast your wireless network, no need to have a different wireless network for the main router and an extender.
Grant Access to Your Guests with the App:
With eero, you can just send your network's login information right from your phone by SMS. Or you can also have your guests install the eero app and you can grant access with a single tap in the app, they will no longer have to enter a password. You also have the option to define how long your guests need access.
No news yet on when the eero will be released. I will keep you posted when new details come out.
Any idea where this is available in the Philippines?
