Samsung Galaxy S4 Unveiled

As expected, Samsung has unveiled the latest update to their flagship phone, the S3, now the S4 has been announced.

The flagship phone now has 2 processor options, a 1.9GHz quad-core or, probably the first on a smartphone, a 1.6GHz octa-core processor.  Since the processor might be needing more battery life to power it, the S4 will come with a 2,600mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 flagship smartphone will be run by the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.  The screen is now larger at 5 inches, the form factor is quite similar to the Galaxy S3 which has rounded corners, the difference is the larger screen and a more flat rear panel.

The rear facing camera boasts of a 13 megapixel resolution, already surpassing most of the point and shoot cameras available today, and might be the highest for a smart phone.

Consumers who were expecting the S4 to be a super upgrade to the S3 might be disappointed, as the S4 only makes incremental improvements to the super features of the S3.  Samsung has made the Galaxy S4 more attractive by putting in lots of specialized applications which take advantage of the S4's feature set.

Samsung is touting the TV control app as one of the Galaxy S4's killer apps, the TV control app works with the IR blaster let's the S4 work as a TV remote control.

Earlier rumors proved to be accurate on the eye-scrolling feature and now, Samsung announced that the S4 will have the hovering feature, where your hand or fingers don't have to have direct contact with the screen to interact with the S4.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is set to be released worldwide in April through May, no pricing details yet.
