In keeping up with the connected world we live in today, Sony has made the PlayStation 4 very connected and is making a lot of free to play content available.
According to Sony, the PlayStation 4 will have a "supercharged PC architecture", meaning, it will be run by an X86 CPU, an enhanced PC GPU with GDDR5, 8GB of memory and a traditional hard disk drive.
As seen in most of the gadget blogs across the globe, even before the Sony event, the new DualShock 4 controller is now equipped with a touchpad. Aside from the touchpad, the DualShock 4 controller is fully loaded with a headphone jack, a share button and a light bar that will be used for motion controls.
To prevent lag times when downloading games and content, the PlayStation 4 will feature a secondary custom chip dedicated for the downloading functions.
The Sony event is still running as I write this, so more news to come, stay tuned.
