Apple announced yesterday the coming of it's latest operating system for the Mac, the OS X Mountain Lion.  According to Apple, this is so far, the most advanced operating system in the world!

The major upgrades that come with the OS X Mountain Lion will take cues from the hit features currently found in iOS 5, the latest operating system for iOS devices.

Here are some of the new features that will be available in OS X Mountain Lion:

1. Messages - Apple's messaging application now comes to the Mac, you can now send iMessages between Macs, iPads, iPod touches and iPhones.  These are free unlimited messages, different from SMS or chat.  Not only will you be able to send messages, you can also send pictures and high definition videos.

2. Reminders - Previously only available on the iPad and iPhone, reminders will now be available on the Mac with OS X Mountain Lion.  With iCloud, reminders can be synced to all your Apple devices automatically.

3. Notes - the popular note taking app on the iPad and iPhone is now available with OS X Mountain Lion.  With Notes, you can add videos, links and photos to your notes.  One interesting feature of Notes for the Mac will be the ability to tear notes and pin them on your desktop.  Again, with iOS 5, you can sync all your notes with all your Apple devices.

4. Notification center - with iPad and iPhone, all your notifications from different applications are conveniently available by swiping down on your screen in any application.  OS X Mountain Lion will now also have a unified  notification center, all new stuff including emails, messages, calendar events and reminders, that pops into your Mac can now be accessed through notification center.

5. Share sheets - the iPad and iPhone made it easy to share photos, links and other stuff with a tap, with Mountain Lion, the Mac also gets the same easy sharing functionality.  Any app will now have a share button and you can choose how to share the item you selected.

6. Game center - game center brought online gaming to the iPad and iPhone, now Game center for the Mac will allow playing head to head with players on Macs, iPads and iPhones.

7. Airplay mirroring - with Apple TV and your mac, you can duplicate whatever you are viewing on your Mac to a television or other display wirelessly.

OS X Mountain Lion will be available in summer in the United States.
